This Forum includes an international fair of more than 100 social enterprises from over 16 countries, a fashion show of modern clothing, European conferences and round tables on current issues in the social economy.
Organizers of this unique Forum are the European Commission, the European Economic and Social Committee, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy in Bulgaria, the European Confederation of Industrial and Service Cooperatives (CECOP-CICOPA), the National Union of Worker Producers’ Cooperatives (NUWPC) and 8 non-governmental organizations.
It provides the opportunity for social entrepreneurs to communicate directly with representatives of European and national institutions and to get familiar with current policies for promoting the social economy.
This Forum enjoys growing interest from the business partners, media and public. We expect that it will attract more than 30,000 visitors next year.
The First European Forum has its origins in 2012 - the UN International Year of Cooperatives. Mr László Andor - Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, officially opened it.
Each year, representatives of various Directorates-General of the European Commission, the European Economic and Social Committee, representatives of Bulgarian institutions, European cooperatives and non-governmental organizations are involved in the forums.
